Chinese photo voltaic module producer JinkoSolar has delivered roughly 3 GW of its tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) photo voltaic modules to Saudi Arabia after signing a provide settlement with Acwa Power.

The contract covers two sub-projects throughout the Saudi PIF4 mission group, which is supported by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF). The first, the 1.2 GW Haden photo voltaic photovoltaic energy station, will use JinkoSolar’s n-type Tiger Neo collection 78 photo voltaic modules. The mission was contracted to the China Energy Engineering Group Consortium.

The second, the 1.8 GW Al-Khushaybi energy station mission, contracted by Indian firm L&T, will use JinkoSolar’s newest n-type Tiger Neo collection 66 photo voltaic modules.

A press release from JinkoSolar stated its Tiger Neo modules exhibit glorious low degradation charges, low temperature coefficients and excessive reliability, making certain excessive efficiency below Saudi Arabia’s excessive irradiation, excessive temperature and frequent sandstorms.

Earlier this yr, JinkoSolar and Acwa Power signed a package deal of framework cooperation agreements, which is able to see the 2 corporations collaborate on photo voltaic tasks world wide.

In October 2023, the 2 corporations introduced a 3.8 GW provide settlement protecting two photo voltaic tasks in Saudi Arabia.
