Indian PV producer Adani Solar, a unit of commercial conglomerate Adani Group, will attain an built-in photo voltaic cell and module manufacturing capability of 10 GW by mid-2026, sooner than the preliminary goal in 2027, Rahul Bhutiani, senior vice president-head gross sales & advertising and marketing at Adani Solar, mentioned pv journal on the primary day of the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2024 in Greater Noida.
Bhutiani mentioned Adani Solar will obtain 10 GW of metallurgical grade (MG) silica-polysilicon-ingot-wafer capability by December 2027. It may also increase its ancillary unit manufacturing for photo voltaic glass, aluminum frames, encapsulants and backsheets to 10 GW by December 2027.
Bhutiani mentioned that each one their new cell capability will likely be primarily based on TOPCon know-how.
Currently, Adani Solar has 4 GW of photo voltaic cell and module capability, comprising 2 GW for mono PERC and TOPCon every. Production is working at full capability and serving 50:50 demand from the home and export markets.
At REI Expo 2024, Adani Solar unveiled its Shine sequence n-type TOPCon dual-glass modules primarily based on rectangular wafers. The modules are constructed on a 210 mm × 182 mm rectangular wafer format. It has an effectivity of 23% and peak energy output of 620 W. The modules are prolonged stress assessments certified in line with IEC TS 63209-12021 and ice check {qualifications}. The bifaciality issue is as much as 85%.
The firm will begin providing rectangular wafer-based TOPCon modules in April 2025. It has already booked orders for these modules and the modules are already beneath the certification course of.
