Tata Power says one among its subsidiaries, TP Solar, has began industrial photo voltaic cell manufacturing at its 4.3 GW built-in cell and module plant in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.
TP Solar’s 4.3 GW manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli is India’s largest single-location PV cell and module manufacturing plant. It is provided to supply tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) and mono passivated emitter and rear cell (PERC) cells and modules.
The facility’s photo voltaic cell manufacturing, at present at 2 GW capability, follows the manufacturing of photo voltaic modules. The facility is anticipated to ramp up manufacturing with the remaining 2 GW of capability to be added over the following 4 to 6 weeks, reaching peak manufacturing within the coming months.
