Tulsa to be web site of Norwegian agency’s first-ever photo voltaic wafer plant within the U.S.

Solar manufacturing is coming to Tulsa in a giant approach – $620 million price.

NorSun, a Norwegian photo voltaic vitality firm that produces monocrystalline silicon wafers for the worldwide photo voltaic vitality business, introduced this week that it plans to construct a plant at Tulsa International Airport.

Governor Kevin Stitt introduced this week that the corporate has chosen the airport for its first US manufacturing location. The Journal Record reported that the 5-GW silicon ingot and photo voltaic wafer manufacturing plant will create 320 direct jobs.

“I’m proud to welcome NorSun to Oklahoma, and I’m thrilled that Oklahomans will profit from a whole lot of recent jobs within the Tulsa space and a $620 million capital funding,” Stitt stated in an announcement. .

The groundbreaking is scheduled for later this 12 months.
