Ardagh Glass Packaging-Europe (AGP-Europe) has entered right into a renewable electrical Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Sunnic Lighthouse in Germany.
The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) secures a longer-term allocation of photo voltaic power provide to AGP-Europe’s NextGen Furnace in Obernkirchen, Germany.
The transition from 90% fuel and 10% electrical energy in direction of 80% renewable electrical energy and 20% furnace fuel is among the primary causes for the manufacturing of low-carbon glass packaging.
Jan Knievel, Head of Origination of the Sunni Lighthouse mentioned that the PPA is for an annual quantity of about 130 gigawatt hours.
