TSA publishes list of things not to bring into security while on vacation
This time of year is especially difficult to get through the TSA checkpoints. Here is a list of items that should not pass through security: You may be surprised.
Atlanta – TSA Regional Spokesperson Mark Howell .
Here’s his advice for travelers this holiday season:
Agents recover an average of about one tonne of prohibited items per month at security checkpoints, including guns and ammunition.
Hundreds of guns are seized at the Atlanta airport each year. Few firearms have been recovered so far this year, Howell said.
“Over 2021, 570 guns will pass through checkpoints,” Howell said. “So far this year, 433 since yesterday, we’re making some progress here in Atlanta in terms of reducing the number of guns at checkpoints.”
A new sign at the airport serves as a reminder to travelers that guns are not allowed on planes.
“Look at the new holograms they added in front of checkpoints and a kind of visible deterrent. ”
