TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) – People are already making travel plans for another Chiefs championship game.
As soon as the Chiefs beat the Bengals on Sunday night in the AFC Championship, fans quickly began looking at the cost of traveling to Arizona for two weeks of big games.
Air BnB’s Ben Breit said:
Bright says that at such a large-scale event, plans are often made months in advance, and some Kansas City fans may be vying for other options.
“Due to the nature of these types of very large events, there have been many official reports related to the Phoenix area that hotels have been nearly empty for months,” Bright said.
He also says to beware of potential scams when looking for accommodation.
“If someone asks you to transfer money through something they want you to believe is AirBnB, that’s usually a big red flag,” says Breit.
AAA’s Scott Martin offers some advice for fans considering a trip to Arizona.
“If you want to go, book now. Prices get higher the closer you get, so now is the time. I was checking prices this morning and a Motel 6 in Phoenix was running about $300 a night and Everything goes up from there,” says Martin.
