Kansas City, Missouri — As Cincinnati Bengals fans head to Kansas City, Missouri for Sunday night’s AFC Championship game against the Chiefs, there are plenty of places for fans to get food, especially delicious barbecue.

News Center 7’s Brandon Lewis spends Friday at Joe’s Kansas City BBQ, a popular lunchtime venue. It will be even busier with Bengals fans in the city.
Joe’s Director of Marketing Eric Tadda said: “I thought it would be a mix of red and orange, but it was more orange.
Lewis was at the original Joe’s location, which is not only located in a gas station, but also known for its delicious BBQ-like chicken and ribs.

“On weekends when there are Bengals fans, we will probably sell 300 to 500 at each location,” says Tadda. “Over the course of the year, we plan to sell over 250,000 sandwiches.

He said the Lewis people came to Kansas City in hopes of good barbecue, and while Bengals fans last year were excited to be there, they didn’t expect to beat the Chiefs. .
“Last year was more of a party atmosphere,” he said. “Now that he’s beaten the Chiefs three times, it feels like they’re here expecting to go to the Super Bowl.”
He feels that Bengals fans are traveling in anticipation of a pit stop to Arizona.

Lewis also visited the Smoke N Soul food truck in Kansas City.
Smoke N Soul food truck owner Greg Stairs said: “So this is kind of a story her wife and I tell through food. She incorporates a lot of Korean flavor into everything she cooks because her wife is Korean.”
The most popular barbecue items are brisket and ribs.
“Our ribs are smoked in an offset smoker. All the smoking is done in an offset smoker and then smoked and then taken to the truck,” he told Lewis. Look, I grilled it and put this lovely char on it, so there are two different sauces, one more spicy and one sweeter.”
If this is the type of food you’re looking for, it’s a city that won’t leave you hungry.
“Kansas City is barbecue,” Stairs said. “So you came here and that’s what you gotta get.”
Cincinnati and Kansas City play Sunday night at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium with a trip to the Super Bowl at stake.
