“Silence breeds anxiety.”
This was the mantra adopted by COO Jeremy Sulek when Epperly Travel acquired Jetset World Travel, which Epperly later renamed itself. The agency is now Jetset World Travel.
Jetset World Travel CEO Lindsey Epperly said: “They’re starting to think, well, this is what’s really going on behind the scenes. They even think we’re over-communicating, and yet people are like, ‘Oh, we’re doing that.’ You will run into situations like ‘I didn’t know ; you didn’t tell us.'”
On a recent episode of the Trade Secrets podcast, Epperly talked about his journey to acquiring Jetset and rebranding his newly integrated agency.
She was asked how her agents maintained the culture they knew under Epperley.
“My advice to maintain that culture is all about communication,” she said.
That advice—frequent communication—applies to so many facets of a travel agency. This is important for our agents, our peers across the agency community, our suppliers and especially our clients.
At Jetset, the proof is in the pudding.
Emma Major, founder of Jetset affiliate Major Traveler, was an affiliate of Epperly’s before, during and after the acquisition and rebranding.
“The funny thing is, when things were going on, I think it was rarely on our minds that we were making acquisitions and that our affiliate partners were doing it,” said Major. says Mr. “I think Lindsay is right about her favorite saying, ‘clear is kind.’ I didn’t expect you to.”
