Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff will travel to Krakow, Poland and Berlin, Germany to advance the Biden-Harris administration’s efforts to combat anti-Semitism worldwide and support memory of the Holocaust. The Second Gentleman will stay in Krakow, Poland from 26th January until he is on the 29th. On January 27, Mr. Emhoff will visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial and museum. He participates in the laying of the wreath and attends the annual commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt, Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism in the United States, will also join the visit.
The Second Gentleman will then stay in Berlin, Germany from 30th to 31st January. In Berlin, Mr. Emhoff will be with Ambassador Lipstadt to attend the convocation of the Envoy and Coordinator to Combat Anti-Semitism.
In both Krakow and Berlin, Second Gentlemen participate in a series of engagements with representatives of the local Jewish community and civil society, and visit historical and cultural sites.
