Chamberlain, South Dakota — St. Joseph’s Indian School recently implemented a policy and procedures management system called PolicyTech as part of its ongoing commitment to providing the best possible service to its students and families. This implementation is featured in a case study on the Navex Global website.
Having immediate access to consistent policies and procedures provided by the software means that all staff have the information and tools they need to respond to situations that may arise while caring for students. means that you have
“Families who choose to send their children to St. Joseph Indian School appreciate the opportunities and better education the school offers. It can be difficult,” said Jennifer Renner Meyer, executive director of child services at the school. , Recreation, the local community, and off-campus excursions, they are assured of consistent care across campus.”
St. Joseph’s is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week most months of the year, and students and staff are always on site. Due to the nature of the organization, quick access to policies and procedures is critical, especially for health events.
Quick access is essential when staff members need to make decisions and act without hesitation.
“We always have people on call who come right away. Being able to look up the procedures we need over the phone has been amazing for PolicyTech. You don’t have to rush to the office to find paper copies, carry binders, etc. It’s much easier to access on your mobile phone,” said a data and program analyst at the school. Michelle Eggers said.
PolicyTech is also an integral part of St. Joseph’s Church’s culture of ethics and transparency, consistently fulfills its mission as an apostolate of the Sacred Heart Priesthood, and works with Native American children and families to educate them. making it possible. For the mind, body, mind and spirit of life.
The new system is now in use by about half of the organizations. We plan to roll out the software to all areas of the school in the coming months. As usage and adoption increase, our goal is to continue streamlining our policy communications so that all staff have easy access to the information they need to fulfill their mission.

Research shows that before implementing the new system, schools relied on personal drives, shared drives, and binders containing various policies and procedures.
“There was a versioning problem. For example, someone emailed a policy as an attachment to a document, everyone saved the same version on their drive or shared folder, and when was it last updated? I don’t know who has the latest version,” Eggers wrote as part of his research.
Adherence to established policies and procedures is very important in an environment like St. Joseph’s Indian School.
“There aren’t many formulaic options when it comes to policies and procedures. Even with the help of HR and Compliance, creating policies was a challenge for us — but at least we were able to ensure consistency across all departments. Using software that helped me create the template helped me,” says Eggers.
PolicyTech helps organizations improve efficiency and gives employees easy access to all the policies and procedures they need. Organizations in healthcare, finance, life sciences, and manufacturing all use PolicyTech to easily run audit-ready reports, keep documents up-to-date, and manage risk across the organization.
