Sonos first released custom EQ software called Trueplay in 2015. The software has evolved over the years to tune the best acoustic performance based on the room you’re using the speakers in. After a strange delay, the Sonos app now supports configuring Trueplay with your iPhone 14 or 14 Pro.
Sonos Roam and Move include automatic Trueplay. This is the ability to use custom and automatic EQ without additional hardware. However, the majority of the Sonos lineup requires a compatible iOS device to use this feature.
Interestingly, Sonos didn’t launch an update at the same time as the debut of the iPhone 14 lineup, allowing customers to use Trueplay. That meant I had to use an iPhone 13 or earlier. On his latest iPhone he tried to access Trueplay and got an error screen saying “Trueplay Tuning Coming Soon”.
What seems to be a server-side update, the 9to5Mac reader steve g discovery It’s a feature currently working on his iPhone 14 using the Sonos app.
We have also confirmed that this feature is working on the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Sonos’ support document lists iPhone 14/14 Pro and iPad 10 Trueplay support as “coming soon,” so the feature may roll out in phases. I have contacted Sonos for updated support details.
Is Trueplay working on iPhone 14? Let us know in the comments!
Thank you Steve!
