Bengaluru police on Saturday arrested a 34-year-old software engineer from Kerala on suspicion of coercing his wife to have sex with a friend. The engineer has also been accused of recording some of her private videos and blackmailing her.
The couple tied the knot in 2011, according to police sources. At first things were going well, but the husband became addicted to alcohol and started harassing her wife. In 2015, he allegedly asked his wife to sleep with two friends and assaulted her when she refused.
At FIR, a woman, also a software engineer, claimed she was forced to have sex with her husband’s friend. After that, the women started living separately. In 2019, the defendant allegedly approached her wife and asked her to persuade her sister to sleep with him.The woman, shocked by the incident, decided not to file for her divorce. Determined, the defendant used a private video to try to blackmail her.
“On December 4th, I again asked for a divorce. He sent me two private photos via WhatsApp and threatened to send them to his parents and friends. When I called, the police called us to the police station to warn him, but he continued to attack me under the influence of alcohol and ganja,” the woman registered Dec. 6. stated in the FIR.
A police officer from Sampiguehari Police Station said the couple had a child and initially tried to appease the child, but the accused continued to harass the woman, so they arrested him.
