“Our new PM9C1a SSD offers a robust combination of superior performance, superior power efficiency and enhanced security, the qualities that matter most to PC users.” As we continue to drive innovation, we are committed to creating storage that meets the requirements of a diverse and changing market.”
With top-notch speed, the PM9C1a SSD is perfect for everyday use as well as more demanding computing and gaming applications. By leveraging the PCIe 4.0 interface, Samsung’s PM9C1a boasts 1.6x faster sequential read speeds and 1.8x faster sequential write speeds than its predecessor (PM9B1), at 6,000 megabytes per second (MB/s) and 5,600 megabytes per second (MB/s) respectively. Hits MB/s. Additionally, random read and write speeds can support up to 900K input/output operations per second (IOPS) and 1,000K IOPS, respectively.
The PM9C1a is also up to 70% more power efficient per watt than its predecessor. This means the new SSD can handle the same amount of tasks with significantly less power. In addition, SSDs use about 10% less power when the laptop is in standby mode.
The PM9C1a is equipped with powerful security features to meet the growing need for enhanced security measures. SSDs support the Device Identifier Composition Engine (DICE) security standard created by the Trusted Computing Group (TCG), a global organization that develops open standards for computing security. DICE securely generates encryption keys within SSDs, provides device authentication to protect against supply chain attacks (cyber-attacks targeting companies through supplier network vulnerabilities), and provides certificates. to prevent firmware tampering.
Samsung’s PM9C1a SSD comes in M.2 form factors (22mm x 30mm, 22mm x 42mm, 22mm x 80mm) and is available in storage capacities of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
