No. 1: Most Disruptive MBA Startups of 2022
Lime Therapeutics treats cancer with a unique approach of starving the cancer. And with her MBA from Harvard Business School, the startup threatens to attract investors, advance clinical trials, and upend the way we look at cancer treatments.
It is also one of 43 student startups honored in the 4th Annual Most Disruptive MBA Startups. This year, 34 of his MBA programs submitted nominations for ventures “most likely to persist beyond business school.” They may include startups that have attracted substantial investment, created unique business models, or been recognized in contests. Schools featured include Stanford Graduate School of Business, Wharton School, INSEAD, Kellogg School of Management, and MIT’s Sloan.

No. 2: MBA Applications: The Good and the Bad
As is often reported, the 2021-2022 cycle saw a decline in business school applications in the United States. However, when we dig into the data for the major US B schools, we see a clear line between elite and tier 2 schools.
And the top 10 B schools were hit hardest by the recession.
Overall, 16 of the top 25 B-schools in the US saw a decline in MBA applications over the last cycle. compared to just 6 schools in the previous cycleThis includes all the top 10 schools reporting data declines.

No. 3: New Flex MBA with Intrastate Flights
Three years after the pandemic, we seem to be in the middle of a business school innovation arms race. Every few weeks, new schools announce new hybrid or online formats, specialized virtual studios, or schedules that make it easier for working professionals to complete their MBA.
This week, the University of San Diego’s Knauss School of Business announced its own unique incentives for its newly reopened Flex MBA. Free flights to and from San Diego for California students.

First up: We’ve got the last of the 2022 jobs reports from some stragglers, and they show impressive hiring results for MBA’s. Johns Hopkins Carey Business MBAs saw a 25% increase in average base salary and nearly a 30% increase in average contract bonus compared to last year’s class.
