Bentley has created the one-of-a-kind Bentley Continental GT Azure. This car is inspired by his 1953 Grand Tourer seen next to him in the photo above.
The Bentley Continental GT Azure is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 producing 452 horsepower.
Bentley Motors has handcrafted a unique, one-off Continental GT Azure inspired by Bentley’s iconic R-Type Continental, the JAS 949. The new Continental GT celebrates his 70th birthday with JAS 949 and celebrates one of his key style icons. In the history of Bentley. The JAS 949 is his one of only 208 R-Type Continentals ever built, but it made more of an impact than its limited numbers suggest. Beautiful Bentleys old and new were photographed at the equally spectacular London landmark Battersea Power Station in South London, which reinvented the 1950s icon into his 21st century.
Described as “the modern magic carpet that annihilates long distances,” the R-Type Continental was the world’s fastest four-seat luxury sedan when it was launched in 1952. The rear haunch and roofline are the inspiration for the original 2003 Continental GT and all Continental GTs since. His Azure member, the latest in the Continental GT family, continues to celebrate the elegance and timeless design of the R-Type Continental, while focusing on wellness while driving.
