Nomad has introduced eye-catching new colors for its Sport Case and Sport Band. Tested on iPhone and Apple Watch.
Nomad’s Sport Case and Sport Band aren’t new, but the colors are. High Volta debuts as a limited-time offer exclusive to these two his Nomad SKUs.
nomad says Apple Insider We plan to release new limited edition colors regularly throughout the year.
If you’re familiar with Nike’s Volt colors, you’re probably somewhat familiar with what Nomad has to offer.
Nomad’s High Volta has a slight yellow tint when compared to Nike’s signature Volt. Still, it’s very bright and pairs well with any Nike watch face on the Apple Watch.
Other faces look just as good, and Apple offers plenty of options between different styles and watchOS color choices.
nomad sports case
Nomad is best known for its dark leathers covered in patina, but has branched out in the last few years.
One of the new styles is its sport case. Initially launched in masculine colorways such as Marine Blue, Ash Green, Luna Grey, and Black, High Volta was the latest limited edition option.
Nomad’s Sport Case has a high-gloss finish on the back that brings the vibrant High Volta colors to life. It’s less noticeable than darker options, but still attracts fingerprints.
The body is a typical TPE with added grip and a black contrast on the back. A closer look at the sides reveals that the buttons are anodized aluminum.
All three buttons (side button and two volume buttons) are anodized in bright yellow to complement the back of the High Volta.
Inside, there’s a soft microfiber lining with the Nomad logo and circle, symbolizing MagSafe support. We’ve tested a number of MagSafe accessories and they all work, but the slippery back feels a little less reliable than the leather one.
nomad sport band
As mentioned, I also tried the Sport Band High Volta edition. Made for all large Apple Watch models including 42mm, 44mm, 45mm and 49mm.
I’ve tried it with other watches, but mainly with the new 49mm Apple Watch Ultra. It’s bright yellow and looks great on the rugged Apple Watch Ultra.
The Nomad Sport Band uses flexible FKM rubber, a fluoroelastomer similar to what Apple uses in its Sport Bands. Between this and Apple’s, this one feels a little rubbery and a little stiff.
It’s a little stiff when you put it on, but I like that it’s not too thick to hurt your wrist.
It has a metal clasp with the Nomad logo on the wrist side and a pin that fits into the receiving side of the watch band. The extra strap fits into the band and fits comfortably on your wrist.
The underside of the band is vented to allow water and air to pass through for your comfort.
Big fan of this high-octane colorway from Nomad, it’s used in two of their most popular products. It doesn’t last long, so if you want to test it yourself, sooner or later you’ll have to act.
