MEMPHIS, Tennessee — Several men are wanted after they stole an iPhone and $3 in an early morning robbery at a Memphis apartment complex by putting a gun to the driver’s head on his way to work, police say. said.
The men repeatedly kicked the driver’s wife and walked away with the wallet, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).
Officers responded shortly after 3:00 a.m. on December 29 at an apartment complex on Sparrow Wood Lane near South Mendenhall and Knight Arnold streets, police said.
Police said a black Dodge Charger and a dark SUV were inside the complex when four armed men jumped out and began searching the cars.
Police said the men returned to their car and drove to the other side of the facility, where they found the driver sitting in the car getting ready for work.
Police said six armed men got out of the car, put a gun to the driver’s head, and stole the phone and $3.
The commotion prompted the driver’s wife to go outside and the men pointed guns at her, police said.
Police said the woman punched her in the face until she fell to the ground and kicked her repeatedly before stealing her wallet and fleeing in an SUV and Dodge Charger.
Three of them are described as follows:
- 5 feet 5 inches, wearing a red hoodie and armed with an AR-15-Draco pistol with a barrel-mounted flashlight.
- At 5 feet 10 inches, he wore a black jacket and cream pants and walked with a limp on his left leg.
- He is 5 feet 8 inches and wears a multi-patterned gray and black jacket with a hood, black pants, and white and black shoes.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
