
Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) held an Investor Startup Meet for J&K based startups to interact, discuss and network with prominent investors.
During the conference, MD-JKTPO’s Khalid Jahangir said that with over 100 unicorn startups emerging from different parts of India, startups from J&K have huge growth opportunities. He highlighted more such programs for connecting J&K-based startups for funding opportunities.
The conference was held at the Conference Hall of Jawaharlal Nehru Udyog Bhawan in the presence of other startup ecosystem stakeholders.
The purpose of the meet is to provide J&K-based startup founders with an opportunity to pitch their venture ideas in front of investors and other startup ecosystem stakeholders, receive seed funding, and gain growth opportunities. It was about building relationships to explore.
Khalid Jahangir, MD-JKTPO, spoke about JKTPO’s role and efforts in providing market and investor connectivity for J&K startups.
Amit Singal, Founding Partner of Fluid Ventures, spoke about their portfolio of investments in over 100 startups. He said many people at J&K are working on startup ideas in other big cities. He coached startups on how to prepare for the startup pitch his deck and storytelling skills.
He advised founders to focus on research work before starting a venture rather than speculating about consumer behavior and market demand.
Prof (Dr.) Abha Rishi, CEO, Atal Incubation Center-BIMTECH talked about AIC-BIMTECH and different kinds of services for startups by AIC-BIMTECH. She talked about the importance of startup incubation programs and working with incubators, investors and other stakeholders in the startup ecosystem. She explained debt funding and various schemes for startup financing.
Anmol Shakti FPC’s 70+ year old startup founder GD Sharma, working on growing a special type of mushroom, pitched his venture and caught the attention of visiting team members. J&K’s promising startups such as Studio Agama, Aquaplex, Anmol Shakti FPC, VR-Eco, eSnick, KHIDMAT Ventures, SESTI, PayUsnap will attend this meeting to present startup pitch decks, discuss ventures with investors, Raised seed funding.
Start-up Dramaturge Pictures aims to produce high-quality, multi-genre regional films with low budgets and very high production values. eSnick is an online marketplace (app/website) for local businesses with additional distribution channels. STUDIO AGAMA formulates advanced heritage conservation techniques that combine art and science, creativity and technology. At Anmol Shakti FPC, she has 520 female mushroom growers who grow the oyster variety Pleurotus Ostreatus year-round.
