A day after jewelry, gadgets and expensive watches worth Rs. Police say the 27-year-old Shoaib Khan planned the robbery around the Christmas holidays when he was away on vacation abroad with his family.
Police added that they recovered all the stolen items within 24 hours. The incident was reported Monday by a home custodian who found the place ransacked and valuables missing from the place.
Chandan Chowdhary of DCP (South) said: He is a senior attorney at the Delhi High Court and the stolen items he claimed were worth more than Rs 20 million. ”
Police said the items included Rolex and Bvlgari watches, Balmain, Chopard, Roger Dubois, Hublot straps and Cartier metal accessories. The complainant also claimed to have lost an Apple iPhone, earpods and a watch.
When police checked the building’s CCTV, a man was seen entering and leaving the place before and after the incident. He was later identified as Shoaib Khan. “After tracking his CCTV footage of about 40 cameras and technical surveillance, the team reached the Azadpur bus stand and caught the suspect who was trying to flee the city. It was recovered from their belongings,” he said, DCP Chowdhary.
The defendant revealed that he knew when his family was going on vacation abroad and planned the robbery accordingly. Police said he had worked there before and knew where things were kept.
