If you want a different perspective on online work productivity and gameplay in 2023, InnoView makes it easy to upgrade with the recently released 27-inch desktop monitor.
InnoView’s new desktop display adds to its line of portable monitors, including the InnoView 15.6-inch 4K HDR touchscreen portable monitor we reviewed last spring.
This 27-inch full desktop option offers an FHD 1080p gaming display with an ultra-thin screen with HDMI and VESA support, featuring refresh rates up to 100Hz and a contrast ratio of 4,000:1. Comes with a tilt-adjustable stand and built-in speaker.

The INVPM701/27 inch FHD/1080P is available from Amazon’s InnoView store for US$159.99. A 24-inch version is also available on Amazon for $119.99. The model has similar features.
Internal structure
This large screen features an upgraded ergonomic design and ultra-wide viewing angles to deliver crisp, clear and detailed images from any angle. Simple and elegant with a black metal body, a sturdy thin metal stand and an ultra-thin frame.
The vertical angle of the screen can be adjusted from -5° to +20°, reducing the burden on the shoulders and neck when looking at the screen for a long time at work or play.
A maximum display resolution of 1920 x 1080 combined with a 4,000:1 contrast ratio makes your screen content more vivid.
Users will find the 100Hz refresh rate to be an asset for playing games, viewing videos and other graphic images. The graphics card and monitor refresh rates are synchronized to eliminate stuttering, resulting in faster and smoother image transitions.

The result is smooth stitched video and real-time motion in fast-paced action scenes. The monitor’s response time is 8ms, helping eliminate blur, tearing and ghosting. Low blue light and HDR technology reduce eye strain from long hours of use.
What I usually consider a borderline weakness is that desktop monitors have a brightness rating of 250 cm2 (equivalent to 250 nits). However, it has a much higher contrast ratio, which makes a big difference in improving overall performance.
Covering 99% of the sRGB color gamut is within acceptable standards. 8-bit grayscale with over 16.7 million colors on a 27-inch monitor delivers vivid details and superior image quality.
exterior design
This desktop monitor has a matte finish, a black display screen, and works with most popular graphics cards.
An HDMI cable is included in the box, but if you use a VGA cable to connect your current monitor, you can use it with this display. .
The back of the panel has one VGA port and one HDMI port for connecting to PCs, laptops, Chromebooks, game consoles, and other devices. This monitor also has an audio output port for connecting headphones.

Various use cases can be accessed through the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu. You can switch between screen sharing, image and video editing, video watching, and game settings.
poor sound quality
My only disappointment is the monitor speakers.
We first tested the video quality by connecting a monitor using an existing VGA cable. Apparently her two tiny internal speakers on the 27″ monitor didn’t work at the time because VGA doesn’t carry audio signals.
To test the sound, I plugged an HDMI cable into the HDMI port. Still, the results were unsatisfactory. Even after maxing out the onboard volume setting, the output sounded small and flat.
I changed the audio output to my laptop’s internal speakers and the sound quality improved. But it doesn’t compare to the deep, rich sound produced by the external speakers plugged into my docking station.
Gamers and users who need loud and clear audio for video calls and audio playback will be very disappointed if the monitor’s speakers are the only option.
final thoughts
This 27-inch monitor is impressive and well worth the purchase. That big display enhances my normal computing routines.
My primary desktop is connected to a 24 inch monitor. My laptop is tethered to another 24 inch monitor and some peripherals via a docking station. This combination allows you to use your laptop’s 15-1/2 inch screen as a second monitor. This is useful when you need to work in a window that displays data that needs to be displayed, while working in other windows that are open on a large monitor.
The 27-inch display makes it easy to display many large windows on an external screen. The extra screen real estate helps you be more productive and eliminates the need for a smaller laptop screen.

My desktop has a touchscreen, but I rarely touch across the desk. So I don’t miss that this InnoView desktop monitor of his has a touchscreen.
Annoying, though, is the small, hard-to-find OSD button on the underside of the lower bezel. The plastic button tops are hard to find if you swipe your finger.
Overall, InnoView’s 27-inch desktop monitor is a near-perfect way to increase productivity from a larger monitor. The big picture offers a much more enjoyable computing experience at an affordable price.
