From ESS News

Queensland state-owned energy generator CleanCo Queensland is piloting the world’s largest grid-connected sodium sulfur (NAS) long-duration battery power storage system (BESS) on the Swanbank Clean Energy Hub challenge, 45 km from south west of Brisbane.

The 1.5 MW NAS BESS offers at the least six hours of power storage and is a part of a feasibility research with Victoria-based power options firm Allset Energy, to finalize an engineering, procurement and development (EPC) settlement for the Swanbank.

Delivered to the location by Allset Energy, German-based chemical large BASF and Japan-based NGK Insulator-manufactured, stackable modules can increase to GW scale.
