Romania’s Ministry of Energy has launched the nation’s first renewable power public sale below a contract for distinction (CfD) scheme.

Romanian authorities plan to allocate 1 GW of wind energy and 500 MW of photo voltaic capability by a procurement train, scheduled to finish on March 25. Project sizes vary from 5 MW to 200 MW.

The authorities has set a most strike worth of €91/MWh for photo voltaic tasks and €93/MWh for wind tasks within the public sale. Selected tasks can be awarded 15-year CfD agreements.

The public sale is a part of the renewable power procurement scheme aimed toward allocating 5 GW of wind and photo voltaic capability.

The Romanian authorities has raised its renewable targets by the tip of 2023. Its present plan is for 36% of the nation’s power to come back from renewables by 2030, with 8.3 GW of photo voltaic and seven.6 GW of wind, whereas planning it should remove coal by 2032. The nation will hit 2.9 GW of photo voltaic capability by the tip of 2023.
