Swedish zinc-ion battery cell know-how specialist Enerpoly has opened a big manufacturing unit in northern Sweden. The 6,500m2 facility is a major growth in Enerpoly’s ambitions to make Europe a producing powerhouse for zinc-ion cell applied sciences.

The plant will broaden Enerpoly’s ongoing co-development of market-ready battery merchandise with shoppers, in addition to allow the corporate to conduct pilots focusing on business, industrial, and utility purposes. It has state-of-the-art dry electrode manufacturing gear, an end-to-end battery manufacturing line, and course of growth capabilities.

Commissioning of the ability has begun and manufacturing is predicted to start in 2025. It targets a last capability throughput of 100 MWh per 12 months by 2026.

Enerpoly first launched work on the EPIC web site after it secured funding from supporters together with the Swedish Energy Agency in 2023. Just one 12 months later, it assembled the primary business prototype zinc-ion battery cell.
