Solar panel producers First Solar, Qcells, Meyer Burger, Mission Solar, REC Silicon, Convalt, and Swift Solar – grouped underneath the American Alliance for Solar Manufacturing Trade Committee (AASMTC) – filed a brand new grievance by the Wiley Rein legislation agency to the US Department of Commerce. They claimed that imports of photo voltaic panels from Vietnam and Thailand have elevated because of earlier antidumping and countervailing duties (AD/CVD) authorized filings with the AASMTC.

AASMTC, citing “essential circumstances,” has filed for retroactive tariffs on all photo voltaic panels imported because it submitted a submitting in April.

The submitting states that, as a result of April AD/CVD actions, “a number of China-based corporations working in Thailand and Vietnam look like actively accelerating their photo voltaic exports to the US, more likely to evade future duties.”

The submitting means that photo voltaic module imports from Vietnam rose by 17%, whereas these from Thailand grew by practically 40%. In complete, the rise in comparison with earlier months was about 2.6 GW of module capability.
