energyRe indicators PPAs to offer clear power to U.S. Defense


energyRe has signed two 15-year energy buy agreements (PPAs) to offer clear power to US Department of Defense amenities within the Southeastern United States.

Shorthorn Solar and Culpepper Solar will provide carbon-free electrical energy to Department of Defense amenities at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Fort Liberty, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, and Shaw Air Force Base.

The Department of Defense is the most important person of power within the federal authorities and one of many largest purchasers of electrical energy worldwide.

Shorthorn Solar and Culpepper Solar will generate 134.9 MWac of fresh power and characterize a $190.8 million funding in Southeastern US power infrastructure.

In April 2024, energyRe introduced $155 million in mission financing and $85 million in tax fairness commitments for the 108 MWdc Lone Star Solar mission and 198MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

Lone Star Solar will probably be one of many largest photo voltaic and storage amenities within the Southeastern United States. energyRe has greater than 700 MW of contracted photo voltaic initiatives in South Carolina and a regional growth pipeline of greater than 7 GWs.
