Supervisors vote to permit photo voltaic panel farm in central Mississippi over residents’ objections

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — What can be Mississippi’s largest photo voltaic vitality venture was authorized by a county board Monday over objections from individuals who dwell close to the proposed website.

Hinds County supervisors voted 3-2 in favor of a conditional use allow for the Soul City Solar venture, which might be developed close to the Jackson suburbs of Raymond and Bolton.

The firm behind the venture, Apex Clean Energy, relies in Charlottesville, Virginia. Apex says on its web site that Soul City Solar will generate sufficient electrical energy to energy about 95,000 houses.

County officers say they count on the photo voltaic farm to be operational by the tip of 2027.

Some residents in Raymond and Bolton have expressed issues about how the photo voltaic panels will have an effect on wildlife, nature and property values.
