Enborne community-owned photo voltaic farm given inexperienced gentle

Plans for a community-owned photo voltaic farm have been given the go-ahead.

The proposals for the farm at Enborne, close to Newbury, have been unanimously backed by West Berkshire Council’s planning committee.

It can be constructed on the Poors Allotment area, which was created for the neighborhood by the Enborne Parish Field Charity.

The electrical energy generated will provide houses within the village, which has a inhabitants of lower than 800.

Although owned by the neighborhood, the photo voltaic farm can be managed by Calleva Community Energy, a not-for-profit neighborhood profit society.

The proposed area website has a historic objective of offering gasoline or vitality for native residents, in response to Local Democracy Reporting Service.

Students from Newbury College and native faculties can be invited to make academic visits, it stated.

Sam Dibas, who heads the Enborne Parish Field Charity, described it as a “historic day” for the West Berkshire district.
