The District Court of The Hague within the Netherlands has rejected a lawsuit filed by Singapore-based photo voltaic producer Maxeon Solar claiming patent infringement by Chinese rival Aiko Solar.

The announcement was made by Aiko Solar. It says the patent litigation case is expounded to patent EP2297788B1 for BC photo voltaic cells.

“The Dutch courtroom determined that it was implausible that Aiko’s merchandise would infringe Maxeon Solar’s patent and due to this fact rejected the requested injunction,” the Chinese module maker mentioned in a press release. “Aiko attaches nice significance to unbiased improvements and the safety of mental property.”

Maxeon Solar filed the patent case in opposition to Aiko Solar and German wholesaler Memedo GmbH in November 2023.

“The lawsuit in opposition to Aiko and Memodo is important to guard our mental property, essential R&D and different investments, in addition to our status and deep heritage and tradition of innovation,” Maxeon Solar mentioned on the time.

The patent pertains to proprietary and elementary photo voltaic cell architectures for BC photo voltaic cells, also called all-back contact (ABC) photo voltaic cells, or interdigitated again contact (IBC) photo voltaic cells. Maxeon Solar manufactures and sells modules with IBC photo voltaic cells.

In June 2023, Maxeon Solar filed a lawsuit in opposition to Tongwei for allegedly infringing its patent for shingled hypercell expertise.
