EPA boosts funding for photo voltaic power in North Carolina

-

The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded a North Carolina group $156 million to strengthen the usage of photo voltaic power all through the state.

Governor Roy Cooper’s workplace introduced Thursday that EnergizeNC, an alliance of photo voltaic advocates, will obtain cash awarded by the federal Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund grant program.

The coalition is led by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s State Energy Office.

The funding will probably be used to deploy rooftop photo voltaic on low- and moderate-income properties, with the aim of saving North Carolinians cash on utility prices. The venture can be anticipated to cut back greenhouse gasoline emissions within the state.

DEQ officers say greater than 70 organizations have provided their help for the EnergizeNC venture.
