Governor Greg Abbott today announced the opening of a new application category for the Texas Travel Industry Recovery Grant (TTIR) program through the Office of Economic Development and Tourism beginning February 1. The TTIR program will provide his one-time grant of up to $20,000 to rebuild the percentage of Texas businesses in the tourism, travel and hospitality industries that have been adversely affected during the pandemic.
“Travel and tourism are important to both the Texas economy and the local economy, supporting one in ten jobs in Texas,” Abbott said. “We strongly encourage all eligible Texas tourism businesses to apply for this grant program. While direct travel spending in Texas is recovering at a faster pace than the national average, our continues to help Texas businesses grow and expand: visitor spending at Texas destinations generates more income for communities and local businesses across industries in all regions of the state Together, we will continue to build a brighter Texas tomorrow.”
Eligible applicants may receive a one-time grant of up to $20,000.
The new TTIR category will start the following applications from February 1st.

Starting February 1, the new category will also resume the application process for all previous applicants who may qualify for funding or additional funding.

Applicants are required to submit supporting documentation along with their application to demonstrate compliance with the grant and eligibility requirements.
