Regionally issued recommendations
- Winter weather advisory: Nicholas, webster, pocahontasand Western green briar County until Thursday night.

Light breezes will continue tonight and northwesterly breezes will bring lake effect snow tonight. This continues through Thursday morning, when temperatures drop to his high 20s, which could make the morning commute smoother.

A light rain and snow shower is possible on Thursday as our system takes longer to travel. The mountains will see measurable snow again by mid-morning as cool air moves in with northwesterly winds. Black ice and slick migration are expected all day for him, as afternoon temperatures only rise to the low 30s. Wind chill is an issue again, sometimes feeling like a teenager or her 20s. The snow cover appears to linger in the highlands, while the lowlands may occasionally be covered with grass.

Friday saw clear skies again as the sun returned to the region after a few morning winds in the West Virginia mountains. A northwest-to-west flow will once again keep the high temperatures in check, as mercury struggles to reach subzero temperatures again in the lowlands.
Saturday will be sunny and dry, and the temperatures this time around will help. Temperatures will be in the 20s in the morning, and afternoon highs will return to mid-40s to high 40s with a nice southwesterly breeze. This break in rain and snow will be short-lived, however, as clouds increase again late Saturday night ahead of the next storm system.
A rainy, wet chance is likely on Sunday, with temperatures pushing towards the low to mid-40s. It may be cold enough to mix light snow on the highest peaks of the mountains. Sunday night temperatures are likely to remain warm with cool showers in the lowlands, but light snowfall will be seen in the mountains.

Monday morning will start with a few snow showers in the mountains and low-lying snow, but that will be gone by late morning and mostly cloudy skies are expected. The maximum temperature will be close to 40 degrees, and it will be another seasonal day in terms of temperature.
Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with highs in the mid to low 40s and a few showers.
Wednesday looks even wetter than Tuesday at this point. A shower is possible as it passes through the storm system. With this, it looks like the cold air will return by the end of next week. Highs on Wednesday will be in the high 40s.
There is a chance of snow on Thursday and it can be uphill. At this point, temperatures are much cooler, with highs approaching freezing.

In your long-term forecast, the possibility of snowfall and rain continues as it experiences a change in pattern from a warm start to winter, and then to a more typical winter of the season. There is no real change in the long-term forecast and no indication of a huge winter storm, but occasional light impact snow events will appear on the table over the next few weeks in this type of pattern.
