Ember is a little different. A Southern California company has two distinct, though not completely unrelated, divisions. There’s the smart mug aspect of the startup-launched business and the more recent cold chain shipping wing leveraging temperature control technology to move things like medical supplies.
The mug business seemed like a kind of stepping stone into healthcare (where the real money is), but that aspect is still going strong. For example, at his CES today, Ember is unveiling his Travel Mug 2+. A new addition to this line puts Apple’s Find My into the equation.

While not the most obvious addition on the surface, travel mugs are certainly the kind of thing that gets left behind very easily. Become.
At some point in Q2 2020, the mug will have both the built-in tracking you need, as well as a chime that will play if you lose it nearby (another mug will use Find My properly is needed).

This product has all the same features as the regular Travel Mug 2, including temperature control and a built-in display. Despite the added features, this product works just like its predecessor ($199), which launched later this year. No word on whether standard mugs will continue to hit the market at discounted prices.
