Anyone wanting a white Christmas will want to make sure their iPhone is set up to be ready for the snow.
The Apple Weather app has some nifty hacks built in that you should be aware of.

This means you can see when it snows at its best.
You can also get snow alerts so you can wait outside for the first flakes to fall.
First, you need to make sure you’re using at least iOS 15, Apple’s iPhone software, which is fairly new.
[設定]>[一般]>[ソフトウェア アップデート]and make sure nothing needs to be installed. If completely up to date, I’m using the iOS 16 version.

Launch the Weather app that comes by default on your iPhone.
It is a blue app that imagines the sun peeking through the clouds.
Go to the app and tap the map icon in the bottom left corner.
Then tap the three overlapping squares in the upper right.
Select Precipitation to see rolling forecasts as snow and rain move around you.
You can also zoom in or out for a better view.
If snow is imminent, you’ll see an icon above your location in the center of the map.
This flags snowfall and its distance.
Of course, you can also navigate the timeline to see how precipitation is moving where you live.
You can move through time using the bar at the bottom of the screen.
If it disappears, tap the screen to bring it back.
This makes it very clear where the snow will fall.
Also, based on the color of the precipitation (according to the chart on the left), you can see if it’s heavy or light rain.
Of course, this is all a prediction, so the map may not be accurate, but that’s always the case with weather.
If you’re really curious in the snow, you can even have your iPhone warn you just before it starts to snow.

Go to the Weather app and select the list icon in the bottom right.
