FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — CentraState Medical Center is not accepting new admissions on Friday morning due to cybersecurity issues.
Hospital spokeswoman Lori Palmer said the facility is diverting new patients to other facilities as a precaution.
“CentraState Medical Center is experiencing technical issues related to IT security issues. We are currently investigating the cause and impact,” Palmer said in an email.
“There is no negative impact on the care of critically ill patients, but as a precautionary measure, we have diverted all new patients to other facilities for treatment.”
She said the state health department was notified.
The FBI’s Newark office said it was aware of the CentraState situation.
“We are aware and are in contact with our partners in the private sector and law enforcement,” spokeswoman Amy J. Soleson told New Jersey 101.5.
A spokesman for the Monmouth County Attorney’s Office said they were not yet involved in the investigation.
CentraState in December 2021 is now part of the Atlantic Health System.
