No one wants to crack their expensive iPhone. And while Apple claims its iPhones feature one of his toughest glass bodies, sometimes you just get out of luck.
That’s why it’s always a good idea to wear a case to protect your iPhone from scratches and unexpected accidents.
Apple itself offers a wide range of cases and covers compatible with MagSafe charging technology. That’s why most iPhone users choose official cases instead of third-party brands.
However, like everything else Apple does, even basic silicone cases for iPhones are pretty pricey. Therefore, its buyers expect it to last a long time without deterioration.
However, some iPhone owners with official silicone cases seem unsatisfied with the quality Apple has to offer. For quite some time, users have reported that the silicone cases are wearing out (1, 2).

Additionally, an alleged former Apple employee has admitted that the quality of Apple’s silicone cases isn’t good enough.
Edit: Former employee here. Such cases are the worst. They all fall apart, usually faster than expected. If you buy an Apple-branded case, buy a leather case. They actually last as long as you’d expect. (sauce)
It’s perfectly normal for a silicone case to wear out after a year of regular use, but the fact that Apple’s official cases are expensive makes the situation worse.
And according to reports (1, 2), the quality issues with these cases have been around for years and, sadly, Apple hasn’t taken any steps to improve them.
Alternatives to Official iPhone Silicone Cases:
There are various third-party brands that produce silicone cases for iPhones at much more affordable prices and better quality.
That said, if you’re not satisfied with Apple’s existing silicone cases, here are some of the best alternatives.
1. Apple Leather Case – If you want to stick with Apple, you can opt for a leather case instead of a silicone case that has proven to be more durable.
2. Otterbox – Offers a wide variety of cases for your iPhone.
3. Spigen – If you are specifically looking for a silicone case, Spigen is your direct choice.
