CaixaBank has formed a European research consortium to work with 11 international organizations to explore ways to improve cybersecurity using artificial intelligence (AI) and big data. This project AI4CYBER is part of the Horizon Europe program and is funded by the European Union.
Over the next three years, CaixaBank will collaborate with Tecnalia, University of West Macedonia, Thales, Frontedart, Public Power Corporation, ITTI, Hospital do Espirito Santo de Évora, Montimage, Search-Lab, European Organization for Security and PDMFC to focus specifically on artificial intelligence. It studies new ways of tackling cybersecurity challenges, focusing on the opportunities and risks associated with their application.
The main purpose of the AI4CYBER consortium is to design new cybersecurity services to understand, detect and analyze cyberattacks and prepare critical systems to withstand them.
CaixaBank’s participation in this project will test the solution in the real environment of a financial institution. This allows researchers to study the benefits of new solutions and improve models for detecting anomalies in behavioral patterns.
CaixaBank says cybersecurity is a company priority and has deployed a cybersecurity ecosystem with a team of experts and an advanced technological infrastructure to protect digital transactions from security threats.
The bank continually invests in new technology to meet customer demand, ensure customer growth, adapt to new business needs, and provide around-the-clock access to information.
CaixaBank has also taken measures such as creating a dedicated group to respond to IT security incidents and a center to coordinate overall security across the group. In addition, he is a member of leading cybersecurity research and collaboration international forums.
