BMW has announced that a new software update will bring more features to its vehicles. This includes, for example, the new functions of the BMW digital key.
This update also includes new features for remote control parking and new mobile operators in AT&T format for personal eSIMs.
Earlier this year, the BMW Group again updated the vehicle’s software with the BMW iDrive operating systems 7 and 8. Currently, about 4.7 million of his BMW cars are upgradeable thanks to the hardware and the BMW iDrive operating system. Since 2019, BMW has offered free remote software upgrades for infotainment, driving, driver assistance, comfort and safety several times a year.
Remote software upgrade is currently available for over 30 BMW models, so almost all BMW models with BMW operating system 7 and 8. Customers can check the software status and search for available upgrades under Remote Software Upgrades in the vehicle settings menu. Only the next possible upgrade will be offered for installation and users will never install the wrong version.
