The Eagles are in the midst of perhaps the greatest season in program history, setting the record for wins in a single season at 23. The previous record was 20, achieved only on his two other occasions (led by former BC head coach Andrea in 2004). Leonard and his current BC head coach Jason Kennedy in 2019) won an unprecedented number of postseason games in a single season in program history, making him the first postseason player in program history. Championship reached his game. Coach Kennedy also broke the all-time coach wins record in BC Volleyball. He currently holds his 81 career wins, breaking his previous record of 80 held by Andrea Leonard.
Joining Wednesday night, the Drake Bulldogs are 30-7 for the entire season and 16-2 in conference play. In the MVC tournament he beat UIC 3-0 and in five sets he lost to UNI. So far in the NIVC, Drake has been red-hot, losing only two sets in total (both to Weber State), to Weber State, Grand He Canyon, Pacific and Davidson.
